There is some prep work on this  beverage that needs to be done a couple hours before serving. Makes 4 - 16 ounce servings.

Ingredients
4 black tea bags
1 quart boiling water
1/2 cup raw honey
3 peeled slices of raw ginger
1 cup tangerine or blood orange juice

Instructions

  1. Two hours before serving, put honey and ginger slices in heat resistant microwave safe bowl; heat in microwave until honey boils. Carefully remove from the microwave using pot holders and set aside until cooled. Once cooled, remove and discard ginger.
  2. When ready to serve, heat one quart of water to boiling; add the 4 tea bags and remove from heat to steep. Let cool for 10 minutes. Fill 4 large glasses with crushed ice. Spoon 2 tablespoons of honey mixture into each glass. Take the tea bags out of the tea and discard. Stir in either tangerine or blood orange juice. Pour the tea/juice mixture over the honey and ice. Serve immediately.

Cook’s Note
I have also served this beverage "lightened up" by adding 1/2 cup of club soda to each glass. Just use a larger iced tea glass.
