Television host and personality Jorge Bernal says the perfect Father’s Day gift is anything he receives with a kiss from his son Lucas and wife Karla Birbragher. A devoted father, Jorge treasures the special moments he shares with his family above all.
“I try to bond with Lucas as much as I can by doing activities that require skill and thought,” said Jorge. “Our latest project was a sign we both made for his tree house bed that said ‘Do Not Enter.’ It was an entire day of just us two talking, learning and bonding over sawdust and paint. Best time of my life.”
Lucas and Jorge both get excited at the thought of new crafts, but Karla knows that with Father’s Day coming up, she has to get them focused on something else: their outfits (with the incentive that they’ll get to wear some new clothing!). A Bullseye View caught up with the fashionista to get everything from her Father’s Day style tips to gift ideas:
How can dads find a balance between casual and dressy?
I suggest a pair of nice shorts and a short sleeve button down, or even a polo. It’s an easy look that will always keep them looking sharp. I love Target’s Merona and Mossimo shorts, especially the printed ones! They also have a huge variety of short sleeve button downs that work great with the shorts.
What are your Father’s Day picks for 2015?
First, a duffle bag; Target has great options. I love, the Merona Weekender Bag in Navy, and it's less than $30! I feel like every dad should have a bag like this. It's great for a quick overnight business trip, for a carry-on, for the gym, or even for a quick weekend getaway with the family.
Second, a nice casual shoe that isn't a sneaker you wear to the gym. For example, the Mossimo Supply Co. Ezra Sneaker, and the Mossimo Emmett Sneaker in Khaki are great options for dad to wear with shorts and a button-down.
What about father-son style? Is that a do or a don’t?
Do! My husband and son love to dress alike. Lucas' nickname is "mini check it out," because he is Jorge's mini-me! I think Target has plenty of options that you can put together so dad and son can dress alike. It doesn't have to be so literal, meaning, it doesn't have to be exactly the same, but as long as the color scheme is the same and the style is going in the same direction, they will look like twins!
