Welcome New Tastemaker in Residence: Lisa Michaux
by Cindi Sutter, Founder of The Spirited Table®
Welcome our newest Tastemaker in Residence - Lisa Michaux. Lisa expands your vision of art and the celebrations around the table.
In her first Spirited Table® back story Lisa takes us to the wedding at Cana where Jesus performed his first miracle. He turned water to wine. Lisa begs us to turn around and catch this scene in person in The Wedding Feast at Cana (1563), oil on canvas. Musée du Louvre, Paris. This back story is about what you miss, if you gaze too long at the obvious; in this case, the Mona Lisa.
She has a PhD in art history and was a curator at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts for 20 years with a specialty in 19th-century French works on paper. Now she is an art consultant and dealer, but prefers to think of herself as a “finder of treasures.”
As we welcome Lisa to our Spirited Table® I can't wait to see what treasures she finds amongst her palette of paintings.
A little secret...she finds treasures in the back rooms of the Musée du Louvre, Paris. So stay tuned.
